At Franceschi Frenchies, every dog is family – and some leave behind a legacy that’s unforgettable. One of those dogs is Franceschi’s Lucy, a lilac-colored French Bulldog with an extraordinary spirit and unmatched beauty.

A Beautiful Soul

Born on December 2, 2018, Lucy was a sight to behold. Her lilac coat shimmered like silver, and her greenish-gray eyes were as soulful as they were striking. Weighing just 21 pounds, Lucy had a powerful frame – built with strength, grace, and speed. She was brilliant, confident, and a fast learner – one of those dogs who just got it.

From Champion Roots

Lucy came from some of our finest lines. Her mother, Pebbles, is one of our foundation females and a decorated International Multi V-1 Champion. Her father, Scribble, is a stunning blue and mahogany tri who passed on his bold coloring and rock-solid temperament.

Lucy had four remarkable littermates:

  • Penny – a fiery red female with a black mask
  • Jefe – a lilac brindle male
  • Pepper – a solid black female with a white chest
  • Finley – a solid black male with a white chest

Together, this litter marked an important milestone in our breeding program – but Lucy always stood out. Be sure to follow along as we pay tribute to Lucy’s littermates in future posts.

A Heartbreaking Goodbye

Tragically, we lost Lucy during the C-section delivery of her litter. It remains one of the most painful experiences in our journey as breeders. Lucy was not just genetically exceptional – she was special. Losing her left a hole in our hearts that still aches.

But Lucy left behind a beautiful gift: four precious puppies:

  • Louie V (male) – now living in Arlington, Virginia
  • Rose (female) – happily in her forever home in Wilmington, Delaware
  • Lily (female, lovingly called “Lily Bug”) – thriving in Avondale, Pennsylvania
  • Lucy (female, named in memory of her mother) – living in Avondale, Pennsylvania

A Grandmother’s Love

From day one, Lucy’s puppies were bottle-fed every few hours. It was a full-time commitment of love, care, and precision. We prepared formula, fed the babies individually, burped each one like you would a newborn, and made sure their nasal passages remained clear so they could breathe and eat safely. We weighed them to ensure they were gaining, and cuddled them so they knew they were not alone.

Raquel was their human mom, and she took that responsibility seriously. She couldn’t have done it without the help and support of her sidekick, Franceschi Frenchies breeder Sean. Together, for two weeks, they provided 24/7 care and support to these orphaned puppies.

Then came a miracle – Pebbles, Lucy’s mom, who had her own litter, stepped in to nurse and raise her grand-puppies as her own. Thanks to her selfless maternal instincts, Lucy’s babies grew up strong and healthy.

Today, they are thriving testaments to Lucy’s legacy and to the kind of care we pour into every single Franceschi Frenchie.

A Legacy That Lives On

Lucy’s life may have been short, but her legacy is eternal. Her children carry on her looks, personality, and championship pedigree. At Franceschi Frenchies, we remain committed to ethical breeding, health-tested bloodlines, and the kind of heart-driven work that dogs like Lucy inspire every day.
